House Crashing: First Floor Guest Room & More

Hi friends,
Thanks for joining me as we house crash my neighbor and friend Alison's beautiful coastal inspired home. We've seen almost all of her first floor. Let's wrap up with first floor with a tour of her guest room, guest bath, and hallway:

Alison shared with me that her design philosophy is to use neutral colors on the walls (Kiln paint color) and add color through art work, fabrics (pillows, curtains). She adds coastal elements from nature to each room (notice the starfish, driftwood, shells).

Hallway near guest room and kitchen. Alison smartly decided to forego a butler's pantry for this organization zone for shoes/coats, and a place to sit to put on your shoes. Don't you love the red wire baskets?

Let's head upstairs....Alison painted this quote by free hand to express her creativity. It reads, "You must be the change you want to see in the world."  It is painted on the stairs headed to the upper level. Isn't it cool?

Thanks for stopping by friends. I'll share Alison's master bedroom/bath, upstairs guest room, laundry room, child's bedroom/bath, and bonus family room this week.
Happy decorating & living,
Megan
