My Foyer

Come on in...

Welcome to our foyer!

Foyers are funny little rooms, aren't they? They set the tone for welcoming guests, family, and you home after a day out in the world.

I looked up foyer in the online dictionary:
foyer: a vestibule or entrance hall in a house or apartment

I am so excited to have a house with a foyer. Our last home in Virginia didn't have a foyer, you simply opened the front door into the living room. Hello! I was always struggling with trying to not let our bags, keys, etc. pile up by the door in our living room.

Foyerless:

Honestly, we mostly enter our house through our garage  so we have our catch all area in the hall way near the garage (bowl for keys, pegs for coats, umbrellas, bags, backpacks, dog's leash, etc).

That frees up our foyer to just be a pretty welcoming zone:

I like the arch ways and crown molding adding architectual interest:

I am in love with these sweet watercolor prints of Pawley's Island, South Carolina from artist Sue Golden:

Happy decorating and living-
I am so grateful for you all today.
